Transformation

Today is a huge prayer day in our country, praying for transformation is what it is called- and do not get me wrong, that is exactly what we as a nation need! One of our great rugby teams played in the Super 14 final yesterday, and as I saw everybody dressed in blue, it felt good to be "one". Partly because of this team being the one I support! But this is a small picture of, what I believe, how God sees us in Christ. The only thing standing in the way of this being experienced in full, is our inability (because of the flesh) to see the way God sees. What a day that will be!

Back to praying for "transformation"- I was thinking on this early morning, and was reminded of a specific Scripture where this word is used:

2Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

The word "changed" in the original Greek is "metamorphoō" and it means to transform (literally or figuratively “metamorphose”): - change, transfigure, transform.

So the point I want to make here is the following- if we are to see transformation in our country, it is time to focus on Him, and what God has finished in Him- from Him, through Him and to Him are all things, according to the Bible in Romans 11:36!

Romans 8:26 So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.

What a God we serve! Everything He expects from us, He also supplies! Focus on Him, and pray today as you are being led by His Spirit, and expect tranformation to take place, even in your own house!
