I greet all of you wonderful people in the Name of our Jesus Christ! It is from Him and to Him and through Him that all things are!
While I was cycling with our club this morning, my thoughts circled on the Crucifixion, the death, the burial and the Resurrection of Christ. And yet again I was overwhelmed by the thought of His great Love for us!
At one stage in Jesus’ ministry on the earth, He spoke to His disciples on His sacrifice and we read in John 12 the following statement “ Now the judgment (crisis) of this world is coming on [sentence is now being passed on this world]. Now the ruler (evil genius, prince) of this world shall be cast out (expelled). (32) And I, if and when I am lifted up from the earth [on the cross], will draw and attract all men [Gentiles as well as Jews] to Myself. (33) He said this to signify in what manner He would die”.
Here Christ foretells of what would happen on the cross when He was to be crucified; He said that all men (those of the past, present and future) would be drawn unto Him – in effect be ‘sucked’ into Him. This ‘all’ includes YOU and ME!!
That is also why Paul can boldly say that he was crucified with Christ, and that Christ is living in and through him (Gal 2:20). This is so amazing! He, our Messiah, took the judgement of God for sin on Himself and dealt with the evil one on that day! In fact, the Bible says that He became sin, He that knew no sin, so that we can be the righteousness of God in Him. Everything He did, He did it with you and me on His mind. So much love!
While ‘suffering’ on the bicycle this morning, and thinking about what a dear brother shared with us yesterday in terms of the global issues, I was reminded of something Jesus said in John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]” He is the perfect peace in us and He is our confidence… this is just another reason why it is so important to keep on looking at Him, to focus on Him and Him only. To look only at Him and doing so intently and intensively. (Hebrews 12:2)
If you are reading this article today, know that we are praying for you and that we believe that He will show you more and more of Himself, and that you, as a natural effect of His revelation, will experience His abundant blessings in your life.
I’m looking forward to Resurrection Sunday and a great time with our beloved fellowship! And remember: you are ‘widely’ loved by your Father!
