Who am I?

It is such a privilege to share the Word of God with you in this way- it is something I never imagined would become what it already has! But just think about it, when He initiates something, it will be successful! We just need to realize how intimately and actively the Holy Spirit is working in every area of our lives, all of the time!

Romans 7:6 "But now we are discharged from the Law and have terminated all intercourse with it, having died to what once restrained and held us captive. So now we serve not under [obedience to] the old code of written regulations, but [under obedience to the promptings] of the Spirit in newness [of life]." One of the ways for us to hear Him and enjoy the fullness of this new Life, is simply to understand who we are in Him.

We have a Siamese cat which we as family, are very fond of. George has been the subject of many a illustration to explain a point. Allow me to do this here: when George is asked to go for a swim, or to bark, or to fly or to eat grass, he would be unable to do it. Why? Because he is a cat and he cannot be something else! But when it comes to our identity, it becomes very complicated, although the Bible is very clear about who we are in Him. Many Christians are convinced that they are still sinners, while the Bible teaches that Christ's sacrifice brought an end to that.

If you are convinced that you are a sinner, that is exactly how you will live your life. How is it possible for a sinner not to sin? But if you accepted Jesus Christ as your Saviour, the Bible declares that you were a sinner, but you are now the righteousness of God in Christ! When you come to realise this wonderful truth, you find yourself not wanting to sin, but to be, what and who you are in Him - righteous.

The Bible teaches that because of the finished work of Jesus, God imputed righteousness to those who believes in Christ (Gal 2:16). He became sin, so that we could become His righteousness (2Cor 5:21). And because of your right standing with God, you have ongoing fellowship with the Father and the Son through His Holy Spirit (1John 1:3), which means that you have access to the Source of everything in the universe!

This might sound controversial due to several reasons, but I want to encourage you to study the Word for yourself, and see and taste that the Lord is truly good! (Psalms 34:8) Next time we will continue on the righteousness of God, to be or to become, and why we still sometimes miss the mark (sin).

May your day be filled with blessings and love and a fresh revelation of Christ in you, and among you. (Col 1:27) And remember: you are “fully” loved by God! (Ephesians 3:18)

We often read the scriptures and hang on to a verse in isolation, as I so often done. In this case Rom 3:23 But reading verses above and below can make His light shine much brighter

Rom 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Rom 3:24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
Rom 3:25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins.
Rom 3:26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
